World View Enterprises ®
World View, an active, full-service commercial launch provider offering a unique perspective of Earth from the edge of space via two primary business segments: Stratollite un-crewed flight systems and Voyager human spaceflight systems. Stratollites, in operation today, offer low-cost, long-duration, persistent high-altitude flight for enterprise and government agencies. Using advanced stratospheric balloon technology, Stratollite applications include communications, remote sensing, weather, and research. The Voyager human spaceflight experience is under development and will launch in the near future, offering private citizens a comfortable, safe, and perspective-changing voyage to the edge of space via high-altitude balloon.
Voyager Communications Strategy
World View Voyager is a unique effort to bring passengers to the edge of sub-orbital space for tourism, research, education and other scientific and commercial pursuits. Based on decades of high-altitude balloon observation flights to heights in excess of 20 miles, the concept gives passengers several hours to view the Earth below, actually seeing the curvature of our planet against the backdrop of the universe.
Upon earning FAA approval as a commercial space endeavor, World View needed to quickly develop and implement a hard launch communications strategy. The flight concept for passengers was still in early development, so discovery and positioning had to occur simultaneously.
Griffin participated in a company retreat to outline target markets, ticket pricing and customer benefits for the first 100 travelers. Building on the idea of a transformative journey to the edge of space, Griffin developed an overall strategy identifying World View with exploration:
Drafted inspiring and tantalizing messaging derived from people who have seen the Earth in such fashion. Messaging woven into each of the launch elements.
Developed an extensive national media relations strategy that leveraged the October 2013 soft launch, publicity earned to date and the announcement of former NASA astronaut Mark Kelly as the Director of Flight Crew Operations.
Drafted and designed a sales brochure.
Website Design and Development
Griffin initially created a quick-turn splash page to assist with the brand launch. This was quickly followed by development of a full website within another 40 days.
